Dave Navarro Online

Wow. I have been so-o-o-o-o busy. I have had things to write about, but I haven't had time! Two more weeks of study and another semester will be behind me.

But one thing I've been doing is hanging out with Dave Navarro online. Yes, the same Dave Navarro who had his own reality show on MTV "Til Death Do Us Part", that chronicled his wedding to the lovely Carmen Electra. Earlier this year, he played co-host and mentor to the contestants on RockStar:INXS. Now he has his own "reality website." He's been hosting a radio show with Billy Morrison called the "Camp Freddy Radio" show on Indie 103.1 on Saturday night, 6-8 p.m. If you miss the show, Dave has in archived on his site. During this time, a chat room opens up, so he can see who's listening and give them a shout out on the radio. Recently he decided to take it one step further and add a webcam in the studio and anything goes on the Internet, folks!

Dave's been really busy lately with his own band, The Panic Channel, which consists of Steve Isaacs, Chris Chaney and Steve Perkins. He's also playing clubs and charity events with Camp Freddy, which is Billy Morrison of the Cure, Donovan Leitch of television and Camp Freddy Radio, Matt Sorum of Velvet Revolver, and Chris Chaney of Jane's Addiction and who ever else shows up.

Now he's streaming his own show from his bedroom…live radio, off the cuff, totally uncensored, whenever he feels like it, folks. Sometimes he opens a chat room during the broadcast, AIM is open for requests, comments, and whatever. Unfortunately, no webcam has appeared in the bedroom. I wonder if maybe his wife, Carmen Electra nixed that idea.
It's great fun and shows that he really cares about the people out there, the ones who listen to his show and buy his records. Check it out. It's a blast!

To Keep Good Girls From Going Bad

I like that...I think I'll use it for my blog title. Can I get a vote?

It seems the more determined I am to do my work, the more distracted I become. I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle, like I'm swimming against the tide. However, the part of my brain that thinks in cliches is working fine.

I'm sick of not updating my blog. I've come up with an "update form" that I will be using when I can't think of anything I want to share with the world. It's not that I can't think of anything to write, it's just that I don't feel comfortable sharing certain things with the general public. Especially the general public that may know me personally.

Which reminds me. Hey, Busy Bee, if you are reading this (and you're probably not so I don't know why I'm bothering! ): check your inbox, dammit!

As for the "frog" comment, I don't think any quote attributed to Joaquin by the press can be taken seriously. I have my own opinions about that, but I'm keeping them to myself, since I don't know the guy "personally." Anything I speculate will be just that, speculation.

Wow, what do you know! An update about an update!

Things I found on the Internet…..
Someone is taking photos of homeless people holding signs that say "Hello, My Name Is…." and underneath they have written their names. It projects the idea of giving a name to the face of the homeless people. It's called "Project Hello" and this is part of their mission statement…

Project Hello aims to build awareness of the world's growing homeless problem.To create discussion and a platform for solutions. To give homeless individuals a name, and in the process, encourage others to treat them with dignity, respect, and compassion. To use our mass communication and problem-solving skills for the forces of good. And to inspire and assist others in creating more selfless, random acts of kindness.

malfunction" are Photoshop fakes. (Warning: partial nudity!)

I was quite amused to see the excerpts from a story about comments Joaquin made on the AFI premiere of Walk the Line red carpet about "frogs eating his brain." The short blurbs make him out to be a nutjob, not someone with a warped sense of humour.

and this is why I always backtrack the links to read the entire original story…..
It was obviously a metaphor for all the brain-sucking interviews he's been through in the last month heralding the official premiere of his movie.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Singer k.d. lang is suing her former business manager, alleging that hundreds of thousands, or possibly millions, of dollars in excessive fees were fraudulently drawn from the musician's account. The Grammy-winning Canadian vocalist filed suit Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court against Annabel Lapp, her company the Annabel Lapp Group and Lapp Group employee Dina Correale. The action seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.

Don't these people even look at their bank statements?

Ahhh…the lives of the rich and famous. And to think this very morning I realized that my clawfoot bathtub is too small. Funny, I've never thought that before today.
